Enter the Design Within Reach Champagne Chair Contest!

Use your favorite bubbly to win an up to $1,500 DWR gift card.

DWR's champagne chair contest

To enter, create a miniature chair using only the foil, label, cage and cork from no more than two champagne bottles. Four winners will receive a DWR Gift Card.

Prizes will be awarded in two categories: Most Original and Best Likeness. If your chair resembles a design that already exists, it will automatically be placed in the Best Likeness category.

MOST ORIGINAL: This is your chance to impress us by creating a chair unlike anything we’ve ever seen. That might mean it’s crazy cool or shockingly simple, but either way it has to be authored by you, not borrowed from another designer from the past or present.

Note: We get a toilet chair every year. It never wins. Think outside the outhouse.

BEST LIKENESS: Celebrate your passion for a chair that already exists in the real world by creating your own miniature version. Whether it’s an Eames Lounge Chair or an Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair or some other fabulous classic, dazzle us by creating the best likeness of the chair you love.

  • Use any or all of the materials (except glass) from no more than two (2) champagne bottles. Glue is the only permitted adhesive material. You are not permitted to use any additional materials – including tape or paint in the construction of your chair. .
  • Cork sheeting is not allowed. If you think the construction of your chair might be mistaken for cork sheeting, please take photos while making your chair. Finalists may be asked to provide proof of construction methods.
  • The chair must measure no more than 4"x4"x4".
  • Entries must be received before midnight ET on Sunday, January 8, 2017.

Twenty (20) chairs will be selected as finalists: ten from each category. If your chair is one of these, you will be asked to send your chair to DWR, and these 20 chairs will become the property of DWR.

Please, only one chair and one submission per person.
