December 12th, 2018: Jacqueline E. Albertine's estate has filed a lawsuit against the designers and facility.

As the design community learns more about the tragic death of Jacqueline E. Albertine that took place Tuesday, June 12, people are searching for more answers as to how the accident occurred and how it can be prevented in the future.
According to her employer Corporate Design Choice, Inc. and a statement by President Shawn MacMullin to interiors+sources, it was a sudden freak accident that no one could have foreseen.
"We are absolutely devastated by the loss of Jacqueline,” he said. “She was a vital part of our organization and a dear friend as well. She was always a nice person to be around ... The way it happened is just sad.”
She is survived by two sisters and one brother, who commended via the Facebook the surgeons who worked on Albertine for hours but ultimately could not revive her.

Tragedy struck MondayMonday aft during NeoCon50 after Jacqueline E. Albertine, 57, fell from a swing installed in the David Edward showroom on the 3rd floor of the Merchandise Mart. The Miami Beach, FL., woman, who had worked as a furniture and design consultant for Corporate Design Choice, Inc., for 14 years, was demoing a wooden swing on Monday when she fell, hitting her head. According to authorities, Albertine was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 4:23 pm Tuesday. An autopsy showed she died of blunt force head trauma and was ruled an accident.
Corporate Design Choice, Inc., president Shawn MacMullin released a statement which read, "It is hard to comprehend the tragic loss of our beloved Jacqui Albertine. She was loved by so many friends, customer[s] and coworkers."
A statement by the Merchandise Mart was offered, alongside condolences to Albertine's family. "We are saddened by the tragic death of a woman who was visiting one of our showroom tenants and was involved in an accident with one of the tenants products."
