This session will highlight the importance of equity and diversity in workplace leadership. The moderator and panelists will each share a positive 'disruption in action' story that impacted their career growth and views of business. Seeing the growth of diversity in leadership supports innovation and creativity within organizations and opportunities for new ideas to gain traction. The goal of the future is to include diversity in all ways - age, ethnicity, gender, and orientation - supporting collaborative approaches reflective in creative design solutions for products and the built environment.

Lindsay Wilson, President, Corgan
Wilson is President at Corgan, focused on the firm’s culture and brand development—the first female in the role and the youngest in the firm’s 80-year history. A hallmark of Lindsay’s career development has been the relationships she’s developed in her 20 years in Dallas’ real estate industry. Her collaborative leadership style and vision have been instrumental in leading the firm’s growth and partnering with clients including Fossil, Toyota, Neiman Marcus, Southwest Airlines, and State Farm to understand how their workplace can reflect their culture, challenge conventional thinking and transform their business.
Jennifer Treter, Principal, Hendrick
Jennifer has held a senior leadership position with Hendrick, Inc. for over 15 years. As a Principal Owner of the firm, Jennifer is the driving force behind all operational initiatives. Jennifer’s comprehensive understanding of all project phases, vast design experience, and leadership skills as a highly experienced Workplace Strategist and Project Principal make her the vital link between the Hendrick Team and our Clients. Jennifer serves as Principal-in-Charge for all Hendrick projects and her proven success as a leader is evident in Hendrick being named as one of the Top 10 Interior Design Firms in Atlanta, Georgia by The Atlanta Business Chronicle. Under Jennifer’s guidance, Hendrick has developed multiple new client relationships while being ever mindful of nurturing our existing relationships. Jennifer’s ability to balance demanding project schedules and budgets, multiple team members, and overall project goals and objectives distinguishes her as an innovator and has set a firm standard for client service. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Interior Design from Auburn University and holds her Certification in Interior Design through the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Jennifer is an active member of both CoreNet Global and the Commercial Real Estate Women of Atlanta (CREW). Jennifer sits on the Executive Committee of ONE Global Design and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Denise Rush, ASID, IIDA, IDEC, Interim Dean, School of Interior Architecture, Boston Architectural Collegec
A long time educator, Denise presently serves as Interim Dean of the School of Interior Architecture at Boston Architectural College. Prior to moving to Boston in 2013, Ms. Rush was as an adjunct professor at these Chicagoland design schools: Columbia College Chicago; Harrington College of Design; the International Academy of Design & Technology; and the Illinois Institute of Art. Denise’s professional design work encompasses the following: a professional academic appointment as the Visiting Interior Designer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; project director at Perkins + Will in Chicago; interiors project manager at SmithGroup in Detroit; design director at WorkPlace Integrators in Detroit; Head of Design at Tower Pinkster Titus in Grand Rapids. Denise has designed and managed the build-out of millions of square feet of space for corporate offices, schools & universities, hospitals, municipalities, and large-scale residences. She has also developed and managed teams of designers from junior to senior design professionals. Denise holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Spertus Institute of Jewish Leadership in Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University.
Kourtney Smith, President, National Office Furniture
Kourtney has over 30 years of experience in the office furniture and hospitality furniture markets. In conjunction with leading National Office Furniture, Smith is also the Vice President of Kimball International, Inc. Before being promoted to President of National, she served as President of Kimball Hospitality and before that Vice President of Marketing for National. During her career with Kimball International, Smith has held roles of increasing responsibility in marketing, product development, sales, and service. In her current role as President of National, she is responsible for profitably growing the company beyond industry benchmarks. Smith offers a customer centric leadership style with a proven ability to assess market trends and needs. Her ability to develop talent and drive results are key attributes to her continued success. In addition to her career at Kimball International, she worked for Tierra International, in Jasper, IN, in a sales management role, broadening the breadth and depth of her skills and experience. Smith holds the distinction of being a Kellogg Executive Scholar of Professional Achievement in Marketing and Sales Management. She has continued her personal and professional development through a variety of programs and involvement in industry associations.
