Configura, maker of CET Designer software, has released CET Designer 8.0, the latest version of the award-winning space-planning software. CET Designer 8.0 includes the ability to create 360-degree movies, enhancements to the Virtual Viewer VR Extension, and other improvements, making it easier to produce photorealistic, panoramic renderings.
With the release of 8.0, the CET Designer Movie Studio Extension will enable users to create and render 360-degree, panoramic videos, offering an exceptionally expansive view of a designed space. The enhancements to the Virtual Viewer VR Extension include support for HTC Vive headsets, launching with CET Designer 8.0, in addition to the Oculus Rift headsets already supported by the Virtual Viewer VR Extension. Configura’s recent collaboration with Yulio “democratizes” VR through the use of inexpensive 3D headsets such as Google Cardboard. Configura’s Virtual Viewer VR Extension along with a VR headset offers an immersive, virtual reality experience of a designed space.
Additional enhancements coming with CET Designer 8.0 include improvements that make it easier to produce photorealistic renderings and 360-degree panoramic renderings, and the ability to do “custom shape tagging,” a popular request from CET Designer users. Added support to the CET Designer “Edit Graphics” (Meshes) tool for mirroring parts and whole objects will be added, along with updates to the Stairs Extension, which includes expanded styles, materials, and the ability to attach staircases and adjust railings. A new “omni” light source in the Lights Extension will be available, as well as more accessories.
