ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Coverings, the world’s annual tile and stone show, is returning to familiar turf in 2012, when the doors open April 17-20, at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida. But, in announcing future dates and venues for the show, the Coverings Board of Directors had a few surprises.
In 2013, the show is headed for the first time ever to Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center (April 29-May 2). Then it’s back to Las Vegas in 2014, but this time to the Las Vegas Convention Center (April 29-May2). In 2015, it’s back to Orlando and the Orange County Convention Center on April 14-17.
Commenting on Atlanta in 2013, Jennifer Hoff, president of events for National Trade Productions, which manages and produces Coverings, says, “With such an international draw of both exhibitors and attendees to Coverings, any location we choose must be accessible both domestically and globally, and Atlanta is an active airline hub. What’s more, Atlanta conveniently neighbors growth regions where so many of our target audience are based. Our choices in exhibit space also are dictated by the scale and scope of Coverings; the venues that can accommodate the type of space we require are somewhat limited. But, Atlanta has always been on our radar screen as a workable facility, and we’re looking forward to being there in 2013.”
Las Vegas worked out well this year, and the Coverings Board was particularly pleased to be able to negotiate a return there in 2014, but to the larger accommodations of the city’s Convention Center versus The Sands, where it was held this past March.
Coverings is sponsored by ASCER (Ceramic Tile Manufacturers Association of Spain), Confindustria Ceramica (Italian Association of Ceramics), Tile Council of North America (TCNA), Ceramic Tile Distributors Association (CTDA), and National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA). Online registration for attendees will be accessible in October at www.coverings.com.
