GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Configura, Inc., maker of award-winning CET Designer® software, has announced it will unveil a new product at the 2011 NeoCon World’s Trade Fair: Photo Lab in CET Designer. Releasing automatically with CET Designer 2.6 this summer, Photo Lab promises to produce renderings so realistic that the software eliminates the need for other add-on tools or outsourcing of the rendering function.
Photo Lab will include the ability to include natural light and realistic shading into renderings, previously only available in dedicated rendering applications, as well as render multiple images at once. It will also enable immediate post-rendering processing and post-rendering changes (i.e. tweaking lighting) without the need to re-render.
Also included with CET Designer 2.6 will be an enhanced version of Movie Studio, the free CET Designer Extension that enables users to create virtual fly-thru videos of designed office space; and a new Reconfiguration tool that automates reconfigurations by enabling users to take a customer’s existing drawing and, by using the tool, see what existing product can be reused, what’s available in the warehouse, what needs to be ordered new and what’s leftover.
CET Designer is developed in collaboration with manufacturers who have invested in a CET Designer Extension; these manufacturers now include Steelcase, Haworth, Teknion, Spacefile, Mepal, KI, Inscape, Aurora Storage Products, Solinoff and Connectrac. The Extensions are built with each manufacturer’s product intelligence, for seamless, rules-based accuracy, via one solution, throughout the entire design, specification and ordering process. An Extension called ProjectSymbols additionally includes libraries covering more than 80 percent of the contract furniture industry’s products. Configura’s free Google SketchUp Extension enables seamless access to Google SketchUp and Google’s 3D Warehouse.
