HP MIMIC and the Smart Office

HP MIMIC and the Smart Office

A collaboration between MulvannyG2 Architecture and industrial design studio Zac & Co. earned both Judges' and People's Choice awards in the 2012 international HP-Microsoft Smart Office Challenge, which addressed the future of office space.

The design, called HP MIMIC, marries flexibility and modularity to allow users to change their office environment using their HP product's interface. This single, fully functional office unit transforms to fit different work styles, technology preferences, and user requirements while adapting to fit a company's office culture and business needs. Made of rigid durable aluminum that is easily moved, HP MIMIC features a collapsible system of rotating electrochromatic glass modules that are controlled via a HP tablet interface.

Read more about this innovative system in the May issue of Interiors & Sources.
