WAYLAND, NY – Gunlocke, an industry leader in high-end casegoods, conferencing, seating and lounge furniture, has achieved a major environmental benchmark, renewing – and adding – certifications for a majority of its products with level™ - the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA) Product Sustainability Standard. The level mark ensures a comprehensive, independent and impartial assessment of the environmental and social impacts of a product’s manufacture and considers energy usage, material selection, human and ecosystem health impacts.

The level program is a multi-attribute sustainability standard and third-party certification program specific to the furniture and modular interiors industry. It was created to deliver the most open and transparent means of evaluating and communicating the environmental and social impacts of furniture and modular interiors products by third party verification.

Gunlocke products that meet the rigorous standards include:

Tables – Converge, Kenna, Kennsington, Medley, Surfaces, Trio, Trio Training, Medley and Sojourn

Seating – Amalfi, Alti, Attract, Austin, Washington, Liza, Mara, Miles, Scarlett, Stretto, Valor, Debonair, Cali, Camille, Carver, Contura, Harlow, Olla, Monde, Fitzgerald, Gracile, New Yorker, Vili, Sojourn, Molti, Porter and Ciji

Additionally, all of Gunlocke’s casegoods and conference collections have been renewed at level 2 criteria, demonstrating the company’s commitment to respecting the sustainability standards within the furniture industry.

“Gunlocke is pleased to meet the thorough qualifications outlined in the level program,” says Roy Green, Gunlocke’s director of stewardship and sustainability. “Earning such distinction demonstrates our dedication to creating environmentally and socially responsible products. We continue to be committed to setting a higher standard in terms of product design, quality, service and delivery in the wood contract furniture market.”
