USGBC Launches App Lab
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has launched its online App Lab as part of its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Automation Program. The lab launched with eight applications, developed by LEED Automation Partners, and is designed for use with internet browsers, tablets, smartphones and other devices.

New Wood Finishes Expand Kimball Office’s Surface Materials Platform
Kimball Office is introducing new wood finish options as part of the company’s Vision Collection of surface materials. This is the second phase of a three-phase launch for the Vision Collection, which was developed with the help of Perkins+Will design principals, Eva Maddox and Eileen Jones. The first phase launched in January and included more than 70 new sustainable seating and panel fabrics.

ASID Interior Design Billings & Inquiries Index Dips in Third Quarter
Results of ASID’s Interior Design Billings & Inquiries Index for the July-August period of 2011 signaled that business conditions for the interior design industry were aligned with the broader U.S. economy’s sub-par growth. The ASID Interior Design Billings Index fell to its lowest point in July (45.1), then recovered in August (48.6) and increased slightly in September (48.2), but has yet to reenter positive territory (above 50.0).
