CHICAGO – DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS) will celebrate the return of DINING BY DESIGN on the eighth floor of The Merchandise Mart by bringing together some of the most talented individuals in the world of interior design, art and architecture to design more than 30 tabletop and dining environments.
DIFFA’S DINING BY DESIGN will kick-off the three day event with Cocktails by Design on Thursday, November 4. At this party, celebrated mixologist Adam Seger will be creating a signature cocktail, DIFFA Rouge. A contestant on this season of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” Stephanie Castagnier will attend in support of DIFFA. Castagnier founded AIDS organization Child Cause after having lost both parents to AIDS at a young age.
On Saturday, November 6, guests will enjoy Table Hop & Taste featuring savory culinary treats from local restaurants including RL, Riva, Prosecco, Markethouse, City Provisions, ZED 451 and Province. Jillian Harris from The Bachelorette and current designer on Extreme Makeover Home Edition will make a special guest appearance and showcase her own table design sponsored by architecture firm The Dobbins Group.
Finally, guests at the Saturday evening Believe Tables Gala will be dining within the installations, making the event a truly unique experience for all attending. The gala starts at 8 p.m. and is for table sponsors and their invited guests, or individual tickets may be purchased.
